I'm Dr. Ranjini Rao, and I've dedicated over two decades of my life to exploring the fascinating intersection of science, history, and culture within addiction behaviors. My mission is to help patients achieve healing through these traditional and cutting-edge therapies and psychopharmacology. I advocate for rigorous research and best practices, ensuring we approach this field with responsibility. My research at Cardiff University centered around patterns of behavioral compulsions and gambling habits among university students. I've also committed my career to advocating for the harms associated with alcohol, collaborating closely with the Welsh Assembly Government on successful initiatives such as passing of the Minimum Unit Pricing (MUP) Bill for alcohol with impactful real-life positive patient outcomes. I emigrated to Australia to explore a broader view of Psychedelic research especially on Ketamine assisted therapy. My current research focus revolves around creating an evidence-based clinical framework to help patients achieve healing through medically assisted psychedelic therapies. In an era where psychedelic medicine is becoming a gold rush for many companies, I believe in grounding our enthusiasm with sound science and ethical considerations.
